Funerals are normally arranged by contacting a Funeral Director, who will then liaise with the parish to make the arrangements. However you are welcome to contact the Vicar or Parish Office directly if you so wish.
During the days before the service takes place the Ministry Team member who is taking the service will arrange to meet with you in order to discuss your wishes for the service, and help you choose the hymns, readings and music that you would like to include.
You can choose to have the funeral in Church or at the Crematorium, or to have a service in church followed by the visit to the crematorium. It is also possible to hold a service entirely at the graveside.
Churchyards:
Burial or the internment of ashes in the churchyard is possible for those living in the parish. There are churchyards at St John the Baptist North Baddesley, St Denys in Chilworth, but not at All Saints North Baddesley. The churchyard at St Mark's Ampfield is now closed, but a new burial ground has been created in the woods behind the church which is maintained and owned by the Parish Council.
Memorials:
Please note that there are restrictions on the sizes and types of memorial stones that are allowed in churchyards. These are laid down by the Chancellor of the Diocese. If you have a question about a memorial, or about the Chancellor's regulations, please contact the Vicar.
