The first sod

February 2008

A team of 8 people from the Deanery visited South Rwenzori In February led by Angela Jones, St Mark's Church Nursling and Rownhams, Chair of the Deanery Overseas Mission Committee including two members of All Saints' church, North Baddesley. During their visit Angela, Jon Dunckley (TFSR), and Rev. Canon Semu Baluku were photographed cutting the first sod for the foundation of the new Incubator units which, it is anticipated, will be completed within three or four months and ready to accept the first regular intake of graduates in January 2009. This project will be monitored closely with a view to extending Incubators to the Kasese workshops in due course.
Rev. Ezra Mukonzo, until recently Vicar of Hima, has expressed a wish to start up tailoring and carpentry workshops in that parish and this will be considered in the fullness of time when the results of the Kllembe scheme have been studied.
